if we remember back..

Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon - is there really a person out there, who has never ever heard something about this series? I honestly doubt that. For most of us anime/manga fans, Sailor Moon has lead us to where we are now. A manga, created by Naoko Takeuchi about an ordinary young girl named Usagi Tsukino, who meets one day a talking cat named Luna. Luna then explains her the world is in danger, and Usagi is the one who can rescue the world if she awakens her dormant powers. Since this fateful day, Usagi fought as Sailor Moon together with a number of friends who joined her later, in order to save the world..

One reason which makes this series so special, is without doubt the wide range of unique characters. Naoko's masterpiece bears so many wonderful characters, who all develop immensily throughout the story.
Starting with a 14-year old crybaby, as the story progresses Usagi turns into a mature and strong young woman, who has an inner light that can bright the darkest corners in the whole galaxy.
Furthermore the series deals with many different aspects, such as friendship, care and devotion, but as well as with fears, pain and loneliness. But most of all, the series teaches you never to give up. I'm sure, all of us have treasured this series somewhere in our heart.

two lonely stars part of galaxy

So why now Usagi & Seiya? Apart from the fact both are my favourite characters, I love their relationship even more. <3

At the beginning of the last season, "Stars", Usagi had to part with Mamoru and therefore, she simply wasn't herself. Deep down she was lonely and depressed, since Mamoru didn't contact her over the whole time, but still as we know Usagi she didn't want anyone to notice. And she succeeded with this - until Seiya appeared.
Seiya helped Usagi to find her old self again, he comforted her and was there when she needed him. He never intended to replace Mamoru like all the people who bash this relationship suggest - at first he was simply amazed by how bright and wonderful her inner light, her star was shining - and still he saw how much she suffered
Soon he fell in love with her natural self, the Usagi also we all learnt to love - and she let her mask split in front of him as a prove of how deep the bond is they share, and also as a way of trusting him.

Still, their relationship is nothing as heavy as "destined by fate".
But exactly because of this, their relationship is beautiful and most of all natural. I myself always had the feeling whenever I watched them interacting, that I saw two young people who had fun, enjoyed their life (in spite of all the teasing :D) and cared for each other.
..so what I mean to say is, there was no sign of being a soldier to rescue the world or any other burdens the senshis normally have to take upon them. Both of them stepped upon a new ground of affection - based on trust, deep care from the bottom of your heart, and still I wouldn't call it love - it's simply special.

upside down

I named the fanlisting upside down, since I think this expression really fits both of their feelings in the last season. Usagi's world is completely turned upside down as soon as Seiya appears, since he seems to look beneath her mask and realises how lonely she is without Mamoru. The same goes for Seiya - without noticing it, Seiya slowly starts to develop feelings for Usagi, although he should only care for the retrieval of their princess. So we see, both of their worlds were a bit upside down at that time :D
